Data Management SpecialistJob#: 3053554Job Description:Data Management SpecialistLocation: Seattle, Washington (Hybrid)Role OverviewThis role provides an opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility sustainability reporting program while working with large, complex datasets and cross-functional business partners. We are seeking a Data Management Specialist to support data operations for this program. This person will define and build metrics within internal systems, drive end-to-end data collection campaigns, manage escalations, and coordinate with controllership to ensure data accuracy and auditability. The selected candidate will have meaningful ownership of data collection, reporting processes, quality controls, and operational improvements that support accurate and timely sustainability disclosures.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine, configure, and maintain metrics within internal reporting systems, ensuring alignment with reporting requirements.Manage end-to-end data collection campaigns across cross-functional teams.Track campaign progress and drive timely completion against reporting deadlines.Manage escalation workflows involving data gaps, discrepancies, and unresponsive stakeholders.Coordinate with controllership teams to support data validation, audit trails, and control processes.Maintain and enhance database structures to ensure data integrity, consistency, and appropriate documentation.Prepare, reconcile, and perform quality assurance checks on data used in reporting workflows.Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and data dictionaries.Work directly with reporting leaders to execute data strategy and independently manage day-to-day deliverables.Proactively identify and communicate data-quality concerns, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.Provide stakeholders with clear updates regarding data requests, outstanding issues, progress, and timeline adherence.Manage multiple concurrent data workstreams in a deadline-driven environment.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in data management, information systems, business, sustainability, or a related field.At least three years of professional experience in data management, database administration, data analysis, or a related discipline.Experience managing large datasets, including reports containing approximately 2,000 or more data points.Experience working with relational databases, data-management platforms, or enterprise reporting systems.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP or comparable lookup functions.Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain high data-quality standards.Ability to independently manage workstreams, prioritize competing responsibilities, and drive assignments through completion.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data issues to nontechnical stakeholders.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.Ability to quickly learn and work within new productivity, reporting, and collaboration tools.Genuine interest in sustainability, environmental reporting, or corporate responsibility programs.Preferred QualificationsExperience using Workiva or a similar enterprise reporting platform.Experience with sustainability reporting, ESG data, corporate responsibility programs, or general sustainability-reporting frameworks.Experience in finance, controllership, internal audit, or audit-adjacent data-management roles.Familiarity with data-governance frameworks, data-quality methodologies, or master data management.Experience working with cross-functional teams in a large, global organization.Experience using Asana or a similar project and workflow management platform.Work Schedule and LocationThe position follows regular business hours and requires onsite attendance approximately one day per week. Candidates may be based in either Seattle, Washington, or Arlington, Virginia. Candidates based in Arlington should be comfortable traveling to Seattle when required.
