About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Holding Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in a large urban hospital required License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - Must be comfortable caring for behavioral health patient population. - Must float within scope to meet facility needs. - EPIC charting experience required. Description: This position offers a 36 or 48-hour option on a 13 or 26-week contract. Travelers will be first to float and must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. During specific blackout dates, time-off requests may be limited. The unit primarily cares for general medical surgical and telemetry patients, as well as orthopedic cases. Patients may include those with total knee and hip replacements, pulmonary issues, sepsis, and various medical/surgical disorders. The patient ratio is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with possible rare adjustments. Training will be provided for safety and de-escalation for behavioral health patients. Travelers will have access to care teams, including CNAs and care techs. Health-related skills, such as managing drips and administering medication, are essential. This is a smoke-free environment. Travelers are required to work two out of three major holidays. RTO requests should be submitted with the application. Weekend shifts will be required as part of the contract.
