Patient Care Specialist

Position Full‑Time Patient Care Specialist – Sentara Medical Group Gastroenterology Fort Norfolk, Norfolk, VA. Work shift: Monday‑Friday 8:00am–5:00pm (Dayshift). Overview As a Patient Care Specialist, you will provide non‑clinical support within a physician’s office and ensure an excellent patient experience by performing a variety of complex administrative tasks to support patient care delivery. Responsibilities Answer phones and greet patients. Schedule appointments and coordinate patient visits. Respond to patient questions and provide information. Perform other non‑clinical administrative duties as needed to support patient care. Qualifications High School Diploma required; Associate degree or higher considered. Minimum of 3years customer service experience. Minimum of 1year experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third‑party payers.
