Piping DesignerLocation: Marietta, GA Type: Contract Compensation: $38.00 - $55.00 Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance: Not specifiedResponsibilitiesPrepare material take-offs including pipe, fittings, valves, to support various cost estimates as required by the projectPerform design checks on compliance with the layout rules specific to piping design (distance between runs, position of welds and openings)Develop the design and drafting of complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&ID's, GA's, piping specifications, equipment arrangement drawingsCoordinate with Piping Engineering Team and other design disciplines to resolve issuesDevelop piping models including studies and layoutsCreate piping transpositions and manual material take-offsReviewing vendor and in-house coordination drawings to ensure compliance with project requirementsAble to extract reports from the modeling softwareReview and check bill of material reports extracted from modelsRequirementsGEDPrevious experience in piping design and draftingKnowledge of piping specifications, P&ID's, GA's, and equipment layoutProficiency with piping modeling software and report extractionStrong coordination and communication skills
