THE DUPLEX Seeking Rockstar Bartenders

The Duplex has been a cornerstone of New York City nightlife since 1951. Woody Allen, Joan Rivers, and Barbra Streisand found their footing on our stage. Pink performed here just last month. We are in constant demand to add quality staff to our team and will create an opening for the right person.  Specifically, we are always looking for individuals who love this industry, love this city, and cannot freaking wait to make this space even more extraordinary. If that is you, we want you in!

You will know you are a fit if you:

·       Have a minimum of 5 years bartending experience in a fast-paced environment

·       Have a genuine love for the nightlife industry and New York City bar culture

·       Anticipate the needs of customers without being asked, noticing when a drink hits the bottom third rather than waiting to be flagged down

·       Approach every guest with grace, integrity, and excitement, whether they are a baller or a Karen

·       Can handle a tough customer without having a meltdown

·       Sell with such natural ease it barely registers as selling, and upsell without ever coming off as pushy

·       Love to orient customers to the space, greet them with excitement, and verbally walk them through what is available rather than drop a menu and wait for an order

·       View customers in other parts of the bar as a testament to how incredible The Duplex is, rather than a threat to your own sales

·       Know how to turn someone stopping in for one quick drink into a guest who stays the entire night, tells all their friends, and writes a glowing review

·       Bring enthusiasm that is genuinely contagious

·       Are obsessed with cleanliness, take real pride in your station, and restock, wipe down, prepare garnishes, and place napkins without being asked

·       Show up on time, in uniform, and cannot wait to start your shift

·       Are cooperative with teammates and entirely uninterested in workplace drama or petty politics

·       Are strong enough in yourself to receive feedback and see management as an opportunity to grow rather than an obstacle to push against

·       Have no interest in drinking or engaging in illicit substances on the job.
