Senior Account Executive, Startups (NYC OR Boston) Hybrid Available Locations NYC OR Boston, MA About the Department Account Executives, Channel Account Managers, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Sales Operations work together to help customers adopt Cloudflare and create great Internet‑enabled experiences. The sales team solves real, technical problems and builds revenue streams that enable free service for millions. About this Role Senior AEs at Cloudflare sell into high‑growth, technologically advanced, venture‑backed North American companies. Your focus will be on acquiring new Mid‑Market accounts and expanding existing customer accounts. You will engage technical professionals to senior executives across Security, Network, Development and Infrastructure teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, execute, and maintain a territory plan to exceed quarterly sales targets and annual quota. Be an expert in the three sales motions: new business acquisition, customer expansion, and renewal. Build a robust sales pipeline using outbound, BDR, Channel, and Marketing Inbound sources. Leverage deep technical knowledge to drive a consultative sales motion. Craft and communicate compelling value propositions and drive awareness through outbound campaigns. Accurately forecast and build commercial outcomes through consistent sales processes and contract negotiations. Act as a trusted advisor, building long‑term relationships with key accounts and ensuring adoption, retention, and expansion. Network across business units within accounts to identify new divisional buyers. Position Cloudflare’s platform—including Cloudflare One and the Connectivity Cloud—to realize full potential for each customer. Collaborate internally across teams to share customer feedback and improve experience. Requirements 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience. Strong B2B discovery skills. Proven industry trend insight and ability to craft client‑centric change narratives. Track record of beating annual targets of $1M+ and managing six‑figure deals. Experience multithreading into the C‑suite and across an organization in complex cycles. Bachelor’s degree required. Proficiency in software and system tools (SFDC, Tableau, G‑suite, MSFT suite). Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on level and work location. For hires in New York City, New Jersey, Washington, DC, and California (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary $234,000 – $321,000. This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The estimated range includes on‑target incentive compensation. Equity Eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
