Lead Accountant

Lead Accountant Dallas, TX – 4 days onsite (WFH Fridays) Compensation: $110-115K + bonus One of Vaco’s privately‑held pharmaceutical clients recently expanded and is looking to onboard a Lead Accountant to the team (with a promotional track to Manager for the right individual). The company is growing exponentially (over 50% YoY) and expanding into new markets. The role is 50/50 review/hands‑on work, acting as the “first line of defense” for the Accounting Director, evaluating reporting packages and financial statements with a critical eye to look for any discrepancies. Leadership encourages new ideas and automation – currently exploring an ERP conversion and recently implemented FloQast. Summary of Responsibilities Own the month‑end close processes for assigned areas, including daily interaction with internal business partners and external auditors. Understand and ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and departmental policies and procedures. Implement new policies and procedures and modify existing ones to make financial reporting/accounting processes more effective, streamlined, and efficient. Provide analytical support and financial analysis in support of the team’s projects, including potential acquisitions, efficiency improvements, and cost‑reduction initiatives. What you bring Bachelors degree in finance or accounting. Hands‑on experience with M&A and integration projects. In‑depth knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP. Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation. General ledger and related reconciliation experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
