Job Description Areyou passionate about nursing and working with children? Weare looking for nurses to provide nursing staff on an as-need basis,part time or fulltime assignments in the school system. The nurses maybe assigned to school health suite management, medicationadministration or supervision of school health aides for the SchoolHealth Program for 2023-2024 school year. Minimum Qualifications: CurrentLicensewith Maryland Board of Nursing CurrentCertificationin Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers NegativeCIJIS forMaryland and Federal criminal background check Two(2) years ofclinical experience as an RN, with at least one (1)year in thepediatric care setting. Requirements Delegateday today nursing activities, including medication administrationtothe school health aides, as required by Maryland Nurse PracticeAct. Attenda five (5) day Case Manager/Delegating Nurse Train the TrainerOrientation course provided by OHHS, which training will be offeredduring the summer months; Providerequiredrefresher training on an as needed basis for any SHN undertheirsupervision; Superviseall agencynursing staff assigned to City Schools to ensure nursingdutiesare performed in accordance with established Maryland StateDepartment of Education (MSDE) protocols, policies, procedures, andquality of care standards; Ensurestaffperformance meets minimum standards in all areas, includingadherence to all school health policies and procedures; HIPAA andFERPA guidelines; proper documentation of services provided; andalways maintaining professionalism, in accordance with COMAR10.27.19.02; Beavailable bytelephone Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00p.m. toaddress OHHS concerns related to staffing needs andconcerns; Beon site to orientand train all newly assigned SHNs; On-sitesupervisoryvisits to observe care provided by the LPN must becompleted at aminimum of every forty-five (45) days. Beable to travel fromschool-to-school where SHNs are assigned toobserve performanceand review all documentation for accuracy; and Incases where an LPNis assigned to a school as the SHN, develop allIHCPs forstudents with chronic medical conditions, and be availabletoattend all 504 Plan/Individualized Education Program (IEP)/SchoolSupport Team (SST) meetings for students with medical needs.
