Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts), 3 shifts per week for 36 guaranteed hours, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights), must work 2 of 3 major holidays, first to float

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver sharp, compassionate care to telemetry, cardiac, neuro and MedSurg patients across a 32-bed CV Tele unit, 28-bed Neuro unit and busy MedSurg floors
• Titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin and Dobutamine with confidence and precision
• Interpret EKGs, catch rhythm changes early and escalate fast because this team never misses a beat
• Float across Telemetry, MedSurg, ICU, Cardiac Tele and holding areas including Cath Lab, ER and observation
• Care for post cath lab, post vascular, day 2 CABG, post crani, spine, CVA post TPA, ortho, surgical and oncology patients
• Partner with charge nurses, clinical supervisors, hospitalists, PCTs, RT and 24/7 pharmacy to keep care moving
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner
• Adapt quickly to new units and teammates, and bring your best every single shift

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent RN experience in telemetry, MedSurg or a related acute care setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification for Neuro unit assignments
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips, this is a non-negotiable
• Willing and ready to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing, with two attempts within 48 hours of offer
• Comfortable floating between units and between the Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses, just 9 miles apart
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• BSN not required, your skills and experience are what matter here

Education

• Charting System: Cerner
• Unit Notes: Auto Offer off of Prescreen
• MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE CARDIAC DRIPS!!

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and centralized tele interpretation
• EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Cardiac drip titration within scope
• NIHSS stroke assessment and neuro patient care
• MedSurg, ortho, surgical and oncology patient management
• Managing 1:3 to 1:4 patient ratios with confidence
• Cerner electronic medical record charting
• Strong communication and teamwork across multiple units and campuses
