Front Office Specialist

Overview Monroe Health Center is seeking a professional and organized Front Office Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is primarily based at the Peterstown Health Center with occasional assignments at other MHC locations as needed. Monroe Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to our rural community. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and staff Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Collect co-pays and payments, coordinating with the billing department Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care coordination Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; medical office training preferred 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or customer service role is preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus What We Offer Competitive Benefits Package: Company contribution for health insurance offered, paid long term disability, paid basic life insurance, WV State Retirement plan, 11 paid holidays and paid time off (vacation/sick/personal) Supportive Company Culture: A collaborative workplace that values teamwork and patient care Work-Life Balance: Consistent Monday through Friday schedule 40 hours per week, no weekends required How to Apply To apply, please submit your resume and an MHC Employment Application.
