Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Adjunct Instructor

Overview We are accepting applications for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool at College of the Canyons. Adjunct positions are on a fiscal year basis, part‑time, with flexible hours, and do not accrue tenure. Teaching may occur at Valencia, Canyon Country, or other college locations. Responsibilities Service: Assume leadership roles within the department and institution; serve student, department, college, and community needs; collaborate across disciplines; participate in committees and governance; contribute to curriculum and program development; collaborate collegially; engage in professional development. Teaching: Create dynamic learning environments; engage diverse students; adapt pedagogy; self‑reflect using evidence‑based assessment; integrate new technologies; communicate effectively orally and in writing; teach didactic instruction (lecture and lab), mentorship, precepting, exam proctoring, interdisciplinary education; fulfill service responsibilities. Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening) and Saturday classes. Qualifications Unexpired credential in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Or any bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of professional experience and a current valid California license for Diagnostic Medical Sonograms. Or any associate degree with six years of professional experience and a current valid California license. Registered in one or more of Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and/or Vascular by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT. Ability to implement classroom management and instructional strategies for diverse student populations. May only be assigned to teach courses for which valid credentials exist.
