Business Analyst III – AI, Process Optimization & Change ManagementWork Model: Hybrid Travel: Minimal, unless supporting field-related initiatives Level: Senior Business Analyst / Cross-Functional Project LeadPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Business Analyst III to lead cross-functional initiatives focused on business process optimization, automation, AI enablement, and organizational change within an oil & gas operations environment.This is a highly collaborative role that blends Business Analysis, Project Management, Process Improvement, and Change Management. The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, translate complex operational needs into actionable requirements, and lead initiatives from planning through implementation and adoption.The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of oil & gas experience, understands field operations, and is comfortable moving between BA, PM, and Change Lead responsibilities. Experience with AI tools, Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, process optimization, and change management will be particularly valuable.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & RequirementsPartner with functional Business Leads to elicit, analyze, translate, and prioritize requirements for business process improvements and optimization initiatives.Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to clarify business needs, assumptions, constraints, priorities, and desired outcomes.Develop and maintain business rules and business, functional, and technical requirements.Manage changes to requirements and specifications throughout the initiative lifecycle.Document operating model impacts, including RACI/RAPID, business controls, dependencies, and opportunities for automation or standardization.Translate complex technical and operational information into clear language for non-technical audiences.Support system enhancements and implementations through requirements clarification, testing, and cutover readiness.AI, Automation & Digital SolutionsIdentify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence and automation to improve business processes and operational efficiency.Utilize AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to accelerate analysis, documentation, and communication while maintaining appropriate quality and data-handling controls.Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to track operational KPIs, initiative performance, and adoption metrics.Design and support solutions using Power Apps and SharePoint, including lists, forms, workflows, document management, and other process-digitization capabilities.Identify continuous-improvement opportunities, recommend practical solutions, and measure results.Business Process Optimization & Change ManagementSupport process optimization and harmonization initiatives while balancing field operational requirements with enterprise standards.Assess organizational and operational impacts associated with process and system changes.Develop change management strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, communication plans, adoption strategies, and sustainment approaches.Identify dependencies across projects, systems, processes, and business groups and help ensure proper sequencing.Partner with training resources to identify training needs, develop and validate content, and coordinate delivery around implementation timelines.Help ensure new processes and solutions are successfully adopted and embedded into day-to-day operations.Project & Cross-Functional LeadershipLead or support multiple concurrent initiatives from planning through delivery.Flex between Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Change Lead responsibilities based on project needs.Develop and execute integrated project plans and maintain alignment across business and technical stakeholders.Collaborate with technical/TIS teams on system enhancements and implementations.Support initiatives across business areas such as: Asset ManagementPipeline IntegrityFacility IntegrityWork ManagementComplianceInfluence stakeholders and drive progress without relying on direct reporting authority.Manage competing priorities while maintaining quality, stakeholder alignment, and delivery expectations.Required QualificationsUniversity degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.Minimum 10 years of relevant oil & gas experience.Demonstrated experience supporting field operations within an oil & gas environment.Strong Business Analysis experience, including requirements elicitation, documentation, prioritization, and stakeholder facilitation.Demonstrated experience with business process optimization and continuous improvement.Experience leading cross-functional projects or initiatives.Ability to translate highly technical or operational information for diverse audiences.Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, facilitation, and communication skills.Ability to influence and lead stakeholders without direct authority.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools, including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, Teams.Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and competing priorities.Technology & Digital ExperienceExperience with the following is highly desirable:Microsoft Copilot or other enterprise AI toolsPower BIPower AppsSharePointProcess automation/workflowsKPI and performance dashboardsDigital process transformationBusiness process mapping and optimizationPreferred QualificationsPMP certification.CBAP, PBA, or similar Business Analysis certification.Six Sigma certification or process-improvement experience.Formal Change Management experience or certification, such as Prosci.Experience supporting enterprise-wide transformation or process-harmonization initiatives.Experience working across both operational/field organizations and technical/TIS teams.Ideal CandidateThe strongest candidate will be more than a traditional requirements-focused Business Analyst. We're looking for someone who understands oil & gas operations and field environments and can move comfortably between the business, technology, and project sides of an initiative.They should be able to walk into a complicated operational problem, facilitate the right conversations, determine what the business actually needs, identify opportunities for AI, automation, or process improvement, develop a practical path forward, and then help lead the organization through implementation and adoption.A candidate with the combination of 10+ years of oil & gas experience + field operations + senior BA/PM experience + process optimization + change management + Power BI/Power Apps/SharePoint would be particularly well aligned.Working ConditionsHybrid office/remote work environment.Minimal travel unless assigned to field-related initiatives.Overtime may occasionally be required.Frequent computer work, meetings, and stakeholder communication.Role requires the ability to balance multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
