12-Step Program Facilitator

Location: 4040 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43213, United States Summary White Light Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate and recovery-oriented 12‑Step Program Facilitator to support and expand our 12‑Step programming. This individual will work closely with the 12‑Step Program Coordinator to foster engagement in 12‑Step recovery principles, strengthen recovery culture within the facility, and help clients build meaningful connections within the recovery community. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of 12‑Step recovery principles and has either personal or professional experience supporting individuals in recovery. Individuals with lived recovery experience are strongly encouraged to apply. This role serves as a key bridge between treatment and community‑based recovery support by helping clients develop recovery networks, connect with sponsors, engage in fellowship, and build a strong foundation for long‑term recovery. Responsibilities Facilitate daily groups focused on 12‑Step recovery principles, step work, sponsorship, service, and recovery‑oriented topics. Educate clients on the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and core concepts of recovery. Assist clients in beginning and actively working the Twelve Steps. Encourage participation in recovery‑focused activities both inside and outside of treatment. Support the development of a strong recovery culture throughout the organization. Community Engagement Coordinate and transport clients to community‑based AA, NA, CA, CMA, and other recovery support meetings. Assist clients in identifying and connecting with sponsors and recovery mentors. Maintain relationships with local recovery communities and meeting organizers. Arrange guest speakers, alumni presentations, and recovery‑focused events. Maintain an up‑to‑date schedule of local recovery meetings and resources. Facilitate client participation in evening recovery meetings and fellowship opportunities. Client Support & Accountability Provide encouragement, accountability, and support to clients throughout their treatment experience. Assist clients in establishing recovery goals and developing sober support networks. Help clients identify and overcome barriers to recovery engagement. Encourage active participation in meetings, sponsorship, fellowship, and service work. Serve as a positive role model for recovery and personal growth. Work closely with clinical staff and treatment teams to support client recovery goals. Participate in treatment team meetings as assigned. Document participation, attendance, and program activities as required. Assist with ongoing development and enhancement of White Light Behavioral Health’s recovery programming. Communicate client progress, concerns, and successes to appropriate team members. Requirements Required High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to transport clients. Knowledge of 12‑Step recovery principles and philosophy. Strong communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills. Ability to build rapport with clients and inspire engagement in recovery activities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM, including transportation and community meeting responsibilities. Preferred Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS), CDCA, or other behavioral health credential. Personal recovery experience with a strong foundation in 12‑Step recovery. Minimum of two (2) years of continuous recovery if applying based on lived experience. Experience working in addiction treatment, behavioral health, peer support, or recovery services. Experience facilitating groups, mentoring others in recovery, or leading recovery‑focused activities. Knowledge of local recovery resources, meetings, and recovery communities. Ability to facilitate groups and remain active throughout the workday. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to occasionally attend community recovery events outside normal business hours.
