Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position at an academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring ACLS certification and EOW availability.

Details

• 40-bed Cardiothoracic ICU within an academic medical center's Center for Heart and Vascular Care
• Patient population includes complex cardiothoracic surgical cases such as CABG, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, ECMO, aortic/thoracic aneurysm repairs, heart valve repair and replacement, and complicated esophageal, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state license valid in NC
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include complex patient assessment, care planning, point-of-care testing, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school is preferred
• Drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should report to the lab within 24 hours of accepting an offer
