Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities and limitations using various diagnostic assessments to inform treatment planning.
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician directives, focusing on pain management, muscle function restoration, and mobility enhancement.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to care plans and delivery of high-quality therapy services.
• Implement therapeutic exercises and functional activities while providing motivation and support to clients.
• Administer a range of treatments including manual therapy, traction, massage, and the application of physical agents based on patient needs.
• Evaluate home environments to recommend modifications that increase client independence and access to care.
• Document patient progress through clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team conferences to collaboratively plan and assess total treatment strategies for each client.
• Consult and educate patients and families on treatment options and the use of therapeutic devices for their rehabilitation.
• Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, including clinical notes and payroll submissions per company policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and those with chronic pain syndromes. Your role is vital in not only addressing their immediate rehabilitation needs but also instilling a sense of empowerment within them to actively participate in their healing journey.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current and valid Physical Therapist license in New York.
• Strong analytical thinking skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice in therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to create tailored treatment plans based on comprehensive patient evaluations.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or home care setting.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
