Quality Control Inspector 

Fresh Produce & Perishable Products 

Reports To: Operations Manager 

Position Summary 

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that fresh produce and perishable products meet company quality, food safety, and customer requirements. This role conducts QC inspections at a supplier facility in Pompano Beach and at our U.S. location in Medley, FL, verifying product quality, temperature compliance, packaging integrity, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

The QC Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product quality throughout the supply chain and ensuring that only approved products are shipped and received. 

Supplier Facility Inspections (Outbound Loading) 

•Perform quality inspections of perishable products at the supplier facility during loading. 

•Verify shipping container temperature at preload, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions. 

•Inspect pallet configurations for load safety and correct package configuration. 

•Monitor loading activities to ensure proper product handling. 

•Maintain inspection records and document any non-conformances. 

•Reject products that do not meet quality standards or arrange approved substitutions. 

•Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to management in a timely manner. 

Receiving Inspections (Inbound Product Verification) 

•Inspect incoming perishable products for quality, freshness, and compliance with specifications. 

•Verify pack dates and expiry dates. 

•Conduct inspections for defects, damage, contamination, pest activity, or other quality issues. 

•Check product temperatures upon arrival and verify cold-chain compliance. 

•Complete receiving inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records. 

Quality Assurance & Compliance 

•Ensure compliance with food safety standards and company policies. 

•Maintain accurate QC records, photo documentation, inspection reports, and temperature logs. 

•Monitor adherence to approved SOPs and quality standards. 

•Investigate quality complaints and product-related issues. 

•Report quality concerns and supplier performance issues to management. 

•Support annual food safety audits and inspections as required. 

Qualifications 

•Experience in Quality Control, Produce Inspection, Food Safety, or a related field. 

•Knowledge of fresh produce and perishable product quality standards and grading requirements. 

•Understanding of cold-chain management and temperature monitoring. 

•Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently. 

•Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills. 

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

•Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
