Human Resources (HR) Director

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Director to support a university environment in Chicago, Illinois. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a strong HR professional who can manage both complex employee matters and day-to-day HR support, while working effectively in a manual environment. The person in this role must be comfortable stepping into a wide variety of HR situations, providing practical support, building trust quickly, and helping the organization navigate change.Responsibilities:Serve as an HR Business Partner for an assigned client group, providing support across a broad range of HR areas.Manage employee relations matters, including complex cases, investigations, documentation, and partnership with legal.Lead the ADA reasonable accommodation process from start to finish, including the interactive process and related documentation.Advise leaders on performance management, coaching, and performance improvement plans.Support workforce planning, reorganizations, and other organizational changes.Assist with change management efforts related to implementations.Handle both strategic HRBP work and day-to-day HR issues in a non-siloed environment.Perform administrative HR work in a highly manual environment with non-integrated systems.Maintain accurate records and documentation across HR activities.Provide recruiting or offer support as needed.Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.May provide guidance to HR Managers, depending on business need.
