About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Actuarial Reserving to take on a pivotal role in the creation and documentation of quarterly reserve analyses for a diverse portfolio of active programs. The successful candidate will be the operational leader of reserving analytics, with a primary focus on the development and maintenance of reserving models, including IBNR analyses and ultimate loss projections. This role demands a deep technical execution and offers significant cross-functional exposure to finance, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance. The VP will also be responsible for preparing detailed reserve exhibits for statutory and GAAP reporting, evaluating the reserve impacts of complex program and reinsurance structures, and supporting various regulatory and audit inquiries. Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative discipline, with an ACAS or near-FCAS qualification. A minimum of 8-12 years' of progressive P&C reserving experience within a U.S. regulated insurance carrier is required, with a strong expertise in statutory and GAAP reserving. The ideal candidate will have experience in program-based or fronting carriers, evaluating reinsurance structures, and hands-on experience with enterprise actuarial systems. The role also involves supervising and mentoring a direct report, so leadership and team management skills are essential.
