Microbiology Lab Technologist

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with expertise in clinical microbiology to join our diagnostic laboratory team. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex microbiological testing, including culture setup , organism identification , and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as automated ID/AST systems and biosafety equipment
Evaluate and interpret test results with accuracy and clinical relevance
Follow established quality control, quality assurance, and biosafety protocols
Document results in the laboratory information system (LIS) with precision
Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a related biological science
Minimum 1 year of clinical microbiology experience (hospital or reference lab) preferred
Familiarity with CLSI standards and CAP/CLIA regulatory requirements
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time, Wednesday through Sunday, 7am-3:30pm
High-complexity testing environment
