WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will be responsible for the process optimization of technical manufacturing operations, including machining and material movement. You will facilitate change management utilizing Lean methodologies such as 5S. You will create and audit standard work instructions and assist in capacity planning for assigned value streams. If you have experience in manufacturing process improvement, and understand lean manufacturing principles, we'd love to hear from you! Key responsibilities include:- Work with the Operations team to make operational adjustments as necessary, to ensure continued growth in productivity and efficiency, by reviewing KPIs daily.
- Initiate, manage, and lead large, complex technical improvement projects.
- Collaborate to plan and implement the layouts of the plant, and production equipment in order to provide the maximum utilization of facilities, and the efficiency of production.
- Apply lean principles to optimize work/process flow, to include reducing machine set-up and changeover times (SMED).
- Investigate, and implement new technologies to digitalize and automate product manufacturing and machine connectivity within the plant.
- Create and modify work routers and bills of materials.
- Implement the digital factory process across the organization.
- Leverage the company's ERP system (Syteline) to analyze manufacturing data.
- Document standard work to include creation of work instructions, recording and analyzing cycle times, and value stream mapping.
- Initiate and lead kaizen and value stream mapping events and apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize work/process flow, to include reducing machine set-up and changeover times (SMED).
- Positively influence personnel during process changes and successfully manage that change.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 2+ years' manufacturing operations engineering experience.
- Practical knowledge of continuous improvement practices, formal problem solving (Ishikawa Diagram, A3, 5 Why, etc.,), and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools as needed to create spreadsheets, standard work instructions, and other documents.
- Practical knowledge of CNC programming.
- Experience in creating work routers and bills of material.
- Experience in successfully leading projects with cross-functional teams.
- Continuous Improvement certification(s) in Six Sigma or Lean .
- CNC and manual machining experience.
- Experience with the manufacturing of bearings and seals for compressors and turbines or related products.
- Experience with custom engineered components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
