Facilities TechnicianThis Facilities Technician role focuses on maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial buildings to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot issues with building systems and equipment, and support preventive maintenance programs to keep critical infrastructure running smoothly.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine building maintenance across commercial and industrial facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, identify root causes, and complete corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, building components, and facility infrastructure to extend equipment life and reduce failures.Inspect facilities regularly for safety hazards, wear, and compliance with company standards and applicable guidelines.Support the upkeep of industrial equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical systems.Respond promptly to work orders, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and document all completed work accurately and thoroughly.Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to coordinate specialized repairs, installations, and service activities.Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory to ensure readiness for daily operations and emergency response.Assist with facility upgrades, small projects, remodeling tasks, and equipment replacements as needed.Perform general building tasks such as drywall repair, painting, and cleaning to maintain a professional and safe facility appearance.Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.Essential Skills2–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related skilled trade.Hands-on experience performing building maintenance tasks such as HVAC service, plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and general repairs.Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including maintenance and repair, without requiring EPA certification.Working knowledge of basic electrical systems and components in commercial or industrial environments.Working knowledge of plumbing systems, including identifying and resolving leaks, clogs, and fixture issues.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and equipment manuals.Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills for troubleshooting mechanical and facility systems.Experience supporting commercial or industrial environments, including exposure to industrial equipment and infrastructure.Ability to perform drywall repair, painting, and basic facility finishing work.Physically able to lift more than 50 pounds, work at heights, and safely navigate industrial environments.Ability to respond to work orders and on-call needs in a timely and professional manner.Strong attention to detail with the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with facility maintenance programs in commercial or industrial settings.Familiarity with maintaining motors, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical equipment.Comfort working with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and installations.Ability to organize and manage maintenance tools, parts, and inventory.Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and clients.Proactive mindset with a focus on preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.Reliability to participate in an on-call rotation for facility support.Why Work Here?You will join a team that values reliability, craftsmanship, and safety while offering stability and comprehensive benefits. You will participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week out of every ten to support urgent facility needs. The work takes place at commercial and industrial client properties, where you will move between different buildings and sites as needed. The environment includes exposure to mechanical rooms, industrial equipment, and active work areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment. The position involves physical activity, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights, as well as navigating industrial settings in a clean, organized, and safety-focused workplace.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gettysburg, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
