Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled registered nurse for a position at a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves providing pre-operative and post-operative care for a diverse patient population, including pediatric patients, adults, and geriatrics. The assignment is for a duration of 8 weeks, with a commitment to evening shifts from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The nurse will manage a patient population that includes:

• Pediatrics (ages 1 and up)
• Adults
• Geriatrics

Clinical responsibilities will encompass:

• Delivery of care in same-day surgeries, inpatient admissions, and observation patients
• Variety of surgical services including vascular, general, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, cardiovascular lab, and interventional radiology
• Following ASPAN standards for patient care

Unit and Facility Highlights

• Type of Facility: Level II Trauma Center
• Total Staffed Beds: 571 across both campuses
• Scrub Color: Any (red-orange scrub color is not permitted)
• Charting System: EPIC
• Daily Census: 80-100 patients
• Number of Rooms: 60

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered nurse
• Charge experience preferred
• Experience required in the following areas:



• Ambulatory/Outpatient
• Inpatient settings
• Pre-Post operative care
• Dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Conscious sedation and pain management

Work Environment

The registered nurse will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including phlebotomy, pharmacy, respiratory services, and social services. The role may require floating between nearby facilities if necessary.
