Speech Pathologist

In the heart of The Dalles, Oregon, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has served the Columbia River Gorge community since 1901. We are comprised of a 49-bed hospital, various medical offices, home health, a birthing center and a vast scope of services located throughout The Dalles and the surrounding areas. Provides speech therapy services to patients with speech, language or swallowing disorders.

Education and Work Experience:

• Master's Degree or foreign equivalent: Required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred
• Valid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR: Required
• OR-SLP: Required
• WA-SLP: Required

Essential Functions:

• Assesses and documents speech therapy data related to patient assessments, patient care needs, interventions and outcomes.
• Identifies changes and trends throughout physical and emotional parameters.
• Reviews treatment plans and assesses individual performances to modify, change or write new programs.
• Maintains documentation as required by law, establishment policy and administrative regulation.
• Instructs patients on ways to monitor speech and practice new skills.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
