Solaria Labs is Liberty Mutual’s enterprise-wide innovation incubator, partnering across the company to stay at the forefront of disruption and build new products, services, experiences, and capabilities for our customers, agents, partners, and communities.Within Solaria Labs, the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Incubation team creates protected space to explore, test, and de-risk high-potential opportunities for the GRS business. We partner closely with leaders and teams across strategy, technology, product, underwriting, distribution, marketing, experience, analytics, applied science, operations, and strategic partnerships. Our work is always evolving in response to customer needs, market signals, emerging technologies, and GRS priorities, giving team members the opportunity to contribute across a changing portfolio of customer-facing, agent-facing, partner-facing, operational, digital, and AI-enabled initiatives.ResponsibilitiesPartner with key stakeholders across Liberty Mutual to identify opportunities that are aligned to enterprise-level and/or GRS strategic priorities and have the potential to disrupt our business in the futureDefine incubation opportunities, including hypotheses to test and near- and long-term valueDesign and incubate new products, services, and tools with the goal to generate new learnings and assets to de-risk and accelerate future investmentsPartner with key stakeholders to transfer these learnings and assets back to the core businessExample ProjectLiberty Mutual partners with clients not only to transfer risk but also to mitigate and control risk. Solaria’s GRS Incubation team recently partnered with GRS Data Science to test a roof health tool providing aerial imagery and roof condition insights to property clients. We began by creating mockups for clients to react to, then worked with GRS Data Science to adapt an internal tool for client use. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead similar types of projects.Position is based in Boston. Compensation will vary based on level, location, experience and education.Assistant Director: $125,300-$176,800. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20Director: $142,800-$201,300. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20Position is based in Boston. Please note the expectation for remote individuals is they are located in New England and can come into the Boston office once a week.QualificationsMinimum of 6-8 years relevant work experience required for Assistant Director levelMinimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience required for Director I levelExpert skills in Excel and PowerPointMust have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making, communication, and project management skillsUnderstanding of commercial insurance concepts, underwriting process, and financial metricsSelf-starter who takes the initiative to lead their own projects and can set a visionAbility to manage high degrees of complexity and ambiguityStrong collaboration / relationship-building skillsAbout UsPay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location.
