Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Minimum 2 years required, charge experience preferred License: SC license or Compact license required prior to start Certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIH preferred Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in medical-surgical and telemetry. This position involves working night shifts in a fast-paced environment. The patient-to-nurse ratio will be approximately 1:5-6. Every other weekend commitment is required. Travelers may need to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Candidates with previous charge experience and community hospital experience are preferred. Telemetry competency is required for this role. The work will involve the administration of medications and patient monitoring. Experience with telemetry is necessary, as the unit involves cardiac telemetry monitoring. Skills in managing ports, blood product administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias are essential. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with various medical conditions. The average daily census is approximately 36 patients. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services will be integral to success. Candidates must be prepared for potential emergency response duties during hurricane season. A commitment to patient care and safety is paramount. Travelers must ensure compliance with all pre-start requirements to begin work promptly.
