Health Information Specialist
Virtual Vocations Inc
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Health Information Specialist will manage and protect patient health information, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating data access for authorized personnel. Key responsibilities Manage and safeguard protected health information (PHI) in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements Facilitate access to health information for authorized users while maintaining confidentiality and security protocols Conduct audits and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of health records Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Experience in health information management and knowledge of HIPAA regulations Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and health information software Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices
