NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Forest Service. These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the U.S. Forest Service through the Agriculture Conversation Experienced Service (ACES) Program.

The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR HS/GED Degree

• Prefer US Forest Service experience on a timber forest, NEPA experience.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel

Duties:

Vegetation Management Coordinator provides project management and environmental planning assistance to Forest staff on a variety of timber, fuels reduction, reforestation, and other active management projects.

• Develops and assists with implementation of active forest management plans and activities for the Natural Resources staff. 50%
• Assists the Forest Interdisciplinary Teams with project coordination across the various specialties. 20%
• Assists the Forest Interdisciplinary Teams with environmental compliance regulations and policies. 20%
• Provide training and guidance to forestry staff in changing and growing roles. 10%

Other:

• Travel Requirements: Local GOV travel only
• Required Safety Gear: Eye protection, hard hat, long sleeves, long pants and boots

• Physical requirements: Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting.
