In this role, you’ll handle preventative maintenance, respond to resident maintenance requests, and ensure the community is safe, functional, and welcoming.What You’ll DoMaintain and repair community systems, including HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord systemsPerform general maintenance projects, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repairRespond to resident maintenance requests promptly and efficientlyMaintain vacated rooms, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairsEnsure common areas are properly maintained, including walls, flooring, doors, and woodworkMaintain positive communication with local fire marshals, building inspectors, and other regulatory agenciesAssess plumbing and electrical problems and determine the best course of actionDocument safety issues and physical deficiencies according to local, state, and federal guidelinesRespond appropriately to emergencies, assisting management as neededFoster teamwork and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkersReport any suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or StatePerform other duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForHigh School Diploma or GED required1–3 years of related experience in building maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of building systems and codes, including HVAC, plumbing, and electricalValid state driver’s license required for vehicle travelMust meet all health requirements, including TB clearanceFirst Aid certification requiredCompassion for and desire to work with the elderlyStrong communication skills with residents, families, and team membersAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manualsApplies common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructionsPleasant, professional, and personable demeanorJoin Milestone to help ensure our community is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained every day.Milestone is an equal opportunity employer.
