About the Role
Futran Solutions is seeking an experienced Tech Lead - Data Engineering & BI to drive the design, development, and delivery of modern data platform solutions for our clients. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will architect and build scalable data pipelines, guide a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, and serve as a key bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, including Business Analysts and end users.


Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead the end-to-end design and development of data pipelines, data models, and BI solutions on Azure.
Provide architectural guidance on Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Denodo, and SQL-based solutions.
Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and establish standards for data engineering and BI development.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data platform issues across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.


People & Delivery Management
Manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, overseeing task allocation, sprint planning, and performance.
Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of data platform workstreams.
Identify skill gaps and support team development through coaching and knowledge sharing.


Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner closely with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications.
Engage directly with business users to understand data needs, validate solutions, and drive adoption.
Communicate technical decisions, risks, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Hands-on: pipeline design, orchestration, trigger management, parameterization
• Azure Data Platform
• Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2), Azure Synapse, Azure SQL DB
• Databricks
• PySpark/Spark SQL, Delta Lake, notebook development, cluster management
• Denodo
• Data virtualization layer design, logical data model creation, performance tuning
• SQL
• Advanced querying, stored procedures, query optimization, data modeling

Leadership & Collaboration
2+ years of experience leading a team of Data Engineers and/or BI Developers.
Proven track record of working with Business Analysts and business users in requirement gathering and solution validation.
Experience managing delivery in Agile environments.

Experience
7-10 years of overall experience in data engineering and analytics.
3+ years of hands-on experience on the Azure Data Platform stack.
Experience delivering solutions in cloud-native or hybrid data architectures.


Nice to Have
Experience with Power BI (development and governance).
Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
Exposure to data governance and data catalog tools (Microsoft Purview, Collibra).
Experience in regulated industries such as Finance, or P& C Insurance
Azure cloud certifications.
