Staff AccountantWEG is hiring a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and performing a variety of accounting duties. This position plays an important role in the month-end closing process, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting projects.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPerform detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial dataInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, documents, and reportsPrepare and post journal entries for month-end closeAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processesSupport internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentationAssist with the preparation of various financial statements and reportsProvide timely and accurate financial reporting to managementAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecastsMonitor budget vs. actual performance and prepare reports on budget variancesPerform remote bank depositsAdminister the Motus car allowance programWork with WEG Business Services (WBS) to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilitiesAssist in entering accounts payable transactionsPerform new vendor setup verificationUpload payroll data to the general ledger monthlyAnalyze and prepare employee reimbursements and deductions data for payroll processingCalculate bi-weekly payroll wage accrual monthlyMaintain accuracy of prepaid expenses, including insurance, tradeshows, etc.Process invoicing of insurance, legal, and other administrative charges to US business unitsAssist with the proper recording of all fixed asset transactions, including disposalsAssist in preparing account details for federal and state income tax filingsEnsure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting policiesEnsure adherence to all company accounting policies and proceduresEnsure adherence to internal financial controls, supporting the company's governance frameworkIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencyParticipate in accounting projects, such as system implementations, automation initiatives, or process reengineeringMaintain key financial metrics and report them to managementEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldKnowledge/Training:Good computer and technical skills, including MS Office applications and proficiency with ExcelExperience with SAP preferredGood understanding of US GAAP and IFRS financial accounting principles and practicesEffective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-accounting personnel in a clear mannerGood organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracyGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and confidentialityAbility to multi-task, use independent judgment, and apply sound decision-making skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet financial reporting deadlinesExperience:Minimum of 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environmentMinimum of 1 year of SAP experienceAbout WEG Electric Corp.WEG is the largest industrial electric motor manufacturer in the Americas and one of the largest manufacturers of electric motors in the world producing more than 21 million units annually.
