Manager - Medical Staff Office/Credentialing

Primary City/State: Deer Valley – 2500 W Utopia Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027 Category: Administrative Support | Shift: Day | Department: Credentialing – Medical Staff Services Must have one of the following certifications: CPCS or CPMSM Responsibilities Manage the centralized appointment and reappointment process for network facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Coordinate and provide administrative support to the Credentials Committees of HonorHealth Medical Staff. Develop, implement, and maintain systems and processes for credentialing and reappointment of medical staff across the network. Maintain a working knowledge of current legal issues related to credentialing to ensure compliance with state statutes and regulatory agencies. Consult with administration and medical staff on credentialing matters and involve legal counsel when appropriate. Keep the Director and Administration informed of credentialing issues and suggest strategies for resolution. Develop and maintain credentialing and reappointment policies, procedures, and a credentialing manual. Protect confidential information related to peer review and other physician evaluations. Review and analyze physician applications and credential documents for completeness and adherence to Medical Staff standards. Conduct credentialing investigations and verifications, coordinating findings with the Director and appropriate Medical Staff Coordinator. Maintain the credentialing and EMR databases, ensuring accurate data entry and preparing reports as requested. Support the department’s budget and approve expenditures requiring management review. Participate in budget planning, including cost projections and monthly financials, working with finance and accounting to resolve discrepancies. Provide education to staff and physicians regarding credentialing, Medical Staff issues, parliamentary procedure, and disciplinary processes. Coordinate all activities of assigned Medical Staff departments/committees, including preparing agendas, minute documentation, and follow‑up. Assist with audio‑visual equipment for medical staff meetings and troubleshoot as needed. Maintain an accurate, secure, and updated computerized database of physician and allied health information for querying and reporting. Coordinate credentialing and privileging delineation activities and re‑credentialing/re‑privileging of medical/allied health staff. Monitor temporary privileges and process variance reports in accordance with policy. Coordinate the Professional Performance Reviews (PRC) and Professional Review Committee (PPR) investigation process, documenting findings and communicating recommendations as needed. Manage, coordinate, and maintain accurate on‑call schedules for Emergency Department coverage across all campuses. Ensure compliance with COBRA/EMTALA regulations and assign physicians fairly on call schedules. Qualifications Associate’s Degree or 2 years of work‑related experience. Minimum of 3 years experience in credentialing. Supervisory experience is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from NAMSS.
