Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year Required License: State License Required Certifications: Required - BLS; Preferred - ACLS, PALS, CRTT, RRT Must-Have: Epic charting experience required Airway management experience required Adult critical care experience required Description: RRT position available for night shifts from 6:15 PM to 6:45 AM. 36 hours a week expected. Every other weekend required, no call. Unit handles acute care in a 300-bed community hospital. Responsibilities include administering nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, high-flow oxygen, non-invasive ventilation, cough assistance, and interventional procedures. Assist with intubations and bronchoscopy as needed. Manage mechanical ventilation and transport of mechanically ventilated patients. Experience with pediatric emergency and pediatrics is acceptable if demonstrated competency is shown. Continuous albuterol therapy will be used, but not in level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. Work setting includes trauma, community hospital, emergency room, and adult ICU. Preferred work experience in Level I trauma and teaching hospitals, as well as acute care pediatric experiences. Equipment experience with preferred brands includes Puritan Bennett, Draeger, and Servo I. Skills required include interpretation of arterial blood gases, emergency airway management, and pulmonary hygiene. Technological skills should include basic troubleshooting of ventilation alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. This position involves working with a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
