Overview
Registered Nurse - Stepdown in Boston, MA. Start date 11/30/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,705–$2,767 per week with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: 12-hour nights, with every other weekend and holidays. Work setting: a hospital-based unit handling IMCU, neurology, and medicine/surgical patients, including high-acuity conditions and complex respiratory needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for step-down patients across IMCU, neurology, and medsurg populations, including ventilated and tracheostomy patients as needed
- Monitor telemetry, read and interpret rhythm strips, respond to arrhythmias, and manage auto med dispensing
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and perform established nursing procedures with accuracy and safety
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor vital signs and neurological status, and escalate changes per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy, and support staff; document clearly in the electronic health record; ensure infection control and patient safety
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education to promote successful transitions of care

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year IMCU experience plus 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience; neuro care, myocardial infarction care, and tracheostomy care required
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; telemetry competency tested on day 1
- Experience with auto medication dispensing systems; able to manage complex medical needs and high-acuity patients
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
