About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean for its School of Nursing, a role that is pivotal in the development of nurse leaders, innovators, and advocates. The successful candidate will be the chief academic and executive officer of the School, with a mission to advance research, education, practice, policy, and outreach in the nursing profession. Responsibilities for the Dean include overseeing faculty and staff development, managing personnel, budget planning and management, and leading efforts in research, curriculum, and student academic affairs. The Dean will also be involved in fundraising and advancement efforts, and must be committed to the values of the institution, including shared governance and a diverse, inclusive academic environment. Applicants for the Dean position must have an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field, with a strong preference for a Ph.D. in nursing. A graduate degree in nursing is required if the research doctorate is in a related field. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in research, teaching, and service, and must be eligible for tenure at the institution. Additionally, eligibility for registered nurse licensure in Wisconsin is a necessary qualification. The Dean will be expected to lead a large and diverse academic unit, with a focus on the impact of nursing science and education on health, including in areas such as neonatal and pediatric nursing, aging research, and health systems innovation.
