ERSEA Outreach Ambassador

The ERSEA Outreach Ambassador serves as the primary navigator to link families and children to Early Head Start and Head Start services. Implements Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) policies and procedures for assigned ECE programs.

SUMMARY

The ERSEA Outreach Ambassadorserves as the primary navigator to link families and children to Early Head Start and Head Start services. Implements Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) policies and procedures for assigned ECE programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Participates in ongoing recruitment of families and children according to ERSEA ranking criteria for the Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Responsible for maintaining list of community outreach activities and primary recruitment locations. Responsible for meeting monthly goal numbers of potential families to enroll in Early Head Start and/or Head Start and meets the expected conversion rate of families enrolling from those recruited Assists families in completing pre-enrollment applications, collects eligibility. Enters eligibility information into ChildPlus. Outreaches to potential families from a call list to inform them of the program and its benefits and enroll them in services.Outreach includes phone calls, in-person visits, letters,emailsand text messages. Attends assigned community events and meetings on behalf of CII torepresentthe organization, and the Early Childhood Education program, supports program visibility and enrollment. Serves a liaison betweenpotential families, and other community resources. Establishes andmaintainsrapport and effective working relationships with children and families and works effectively within CII and community at large. Initiates andmaintin effective communication flow between communitygroups,and organizations. Participatesinrequiredmeetings/trainings by funder as assigned. Maintains complete andaccuratedocumentation ensuring complianceofservice standards and policies as stipulated by contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

1-2 years of community-based program experience. High School diploma or GED required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Weekend and evening work will be required as part of the regular schedule for this position. Possesses a valid driver’s license and state-required auto insurance. Must have reliable vehicle for transportation Required to travel extensively (> 75% of the time). Ability to work with minimal supervision. Spanish / English bilingual preferred. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community-based organizations. Strong knowledge of state and federal income requirements. Maintains client privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities. Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities. Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Punctual and dependable attendance. Free from alcohol and drug abuse. Understands CII’s basic philosophy and participates fully in carrying out its mission.

COMPENSATION:

$23.88 USD - $28.66 USD

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to maintain internal inequity and allow opportunity for future salary growth. CII salaries are determined based on comprehensive internal and external market analysis, as well as the skills, education, and experience relevant to each position.
