As we continue to expand our presence in the industry, we are seeking a passionate and talented Runner to join our team.As the Runner at Backyard Dallas, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the restaurant. In addition, Runners often manage complex customer complaints and questions, demonstrating their problem-solving skills. They may also be involved in setting up tables, scanning products, and assisting with inventory control. Runners are responsible for transporting tableware to the dishwashing area and ensuring quick clean-up between seatings. These tasks contribute to the larger job of providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional appearance. You will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.Duties/Responsibilities:Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers tables rapidly and accurately.Function as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies).Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature).Support waits staff with table setup by gathering and placing the appropriate tableware, utensils, and napkins.Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed.Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware promptly to keep tables clean and ready for guests.Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items.Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g., when they ask for the check).Required Skills/Abilities:Experience as a Runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant.Must follow food safety and sanitation procedures.Ability to safely carry multiple plates, trays, and food orders.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Availability to work various shifts, including weekends.Must be able to handle multiple tasks during busy periods.Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing and walking.Must be able to safely lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.Backyard Dallas provides equal employment opportunities to all team members and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, or any other characteristic provided by federal, state, or local laws.
