• Work setting: Med/Surg Oncology care in a short term acute care hospital

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology-related needs
• Assess patient and family needs; develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor patient progress, reassess, and adjust the care plan as conditions change
• Educate patients and families on self-care, medications, symptom management, and discharge planning
• Promote safety and infection prevention; advocate for patient rights; coordinate care with physicians and support staff
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

Requirements

• NYS Registered Nurse license (active required)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
• Ability to care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a medical/surgical setting
• Ability to work a 3x12 rotating schedule with on-call shifts and holiday coverage as scheduled
