Retail Clerk

The Candy Store strives to create a welcoming, fun, and memorable experience for every customer. This position plays an important role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the store. The ideal candidate is positive, professional, and enjoys interacting with customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with their questions, requests, and purchases
• Provide friendly, positive, and professional customer service
• Operate the cash register, including opening and closing procedures and basic troubleshooting
• Assist with store decorations and seasonal displays
• Stock merchandise and maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays and shelves
• Utilize store computer systems to support inventory control, including product counts, stock organization, and inventory, manufacturing, and stock transactions.
• Prepare customer orders for pickup
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Take customer orders by phone and provide accurate pricing and timelines for order completion, delivery, or pickup
• Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

Required

• At least 16 years of age.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
• Enjoys working with and assisting customers
• Basic computer proficiency
• Dependable, positive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to remain professional and adaptable in a retail environment

Preferred

• Previous retail or customer service experience

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
