Occupational TherapistConejo Valley Unified School District - Thousand Oaks, CA$46.31 - $55.99 HourlyAcademic School YR (9.5 Months) ~ 8.0 Hours/Wk DayJob Number: 26-385-1Division: Student ServicesOpening Date: 07/07/2026Closing Date: ContinuousSalary Schedule Range c121Recruitment DetailsUnder the direction of an assigned supervisor, develop, implement, oversee and provide occupational therapy services and treatment to enhance fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing and other functional abilities and development among identified students with disabilities; observe, evaluate and develop occupational therapy treatment plans in response to student needs and disabilities; provide consultation and training to teachers, staff, parents and others concerning the development of student motor skills and related programs.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides occupational therapy services to students; Maintains a safe and orderly treatment area; Conducts assessments of students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy; Reviews reports from health care providers requesting occupational therapy and coordinates occupational therapy services with students' health care providers; Collaborates with school nurse in the coordination of medical care protocols and acts as a resource to school personnel in interpreting occupational therapy services; Plans and develops therapeutic intervention goals that are educationally relevant and will be used in students' educational programs; Establishes a system of documentation that is professional, efficient and accountable and that conforms to state and individual agency policy; Communicates results of evaluations and reports of occupational therapy services to the educational staff, parents, students and other professionals and agencies concerned with the students; Re-evaluates students' individual occupational therapy plans on a regular basis; Provides reports for use in Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) committees, attends IEP meetings as necessary and maintains progress notes on student records; Facilitates in-service education and professional development for related service/occupational therapy staff; Monitors the occupational therapy program goals by teaching paraprofessionals who are involved with the implementation of the intervention procedures; Provides consultation to the educational system regarding student needs, professional needs and system needs in order for the system to achieve its goals and objectives; Provides reassessments of students focusing on areas of need at intervals determined to be educationally relevant; Communicates the needs of the occupational therapy program to the appropriate supervising school administrator; Performs related duties as required.Minimum Entrance QualificationsExperience: Work experience with children (ages zero to twenty-two) providing occupational therapy services; experience working with special needs children is desirable. Education: Persons with the experience, knowledge and abilities as stated are considered to have the necessary education. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE REQUIRED Valid registration by the American Occupational Therapy Association and a valid California driver's license. DENTAL INSURANCE : Employees holding regular/permanent positions at 30.0 or more hours per week shall be eligible to participate in the District-paid coverage for family dental insurance. VISION CARE INSURANCE : Employees holding regular/permanent positions at 30.0 or more hours per week shall be eligible to participate in the District-paid coverage for family vision insurance. HOLIDAYS : Up to fourteen paid holidays per year. LIFE INSURANCE : Employees holding regular/permanent positions at 30.0 or more hours per week shall be eligible to participate in the District-paid coverage for family life insurance. VACATION : Employees with one to three years of service earn 12 vacation days per year (employees working less than 12 months shall earn vacation on a pro rata basis). The number of vacation days earned increases with longevity up to 20 days per year after 15 years of service. SICK LEAVE : One day per month, cumulative from year to year (employees working less than 12 months shall earn sick leave on a pro rata basis). RETIREMENT : Employees holding regular/permanent positions at 4 or more hours daily AND at least 20 hours weekly are covered by Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and Social Security. Contributions are made by both the employee and employer. SALARY STEP MOVEMENT : First day of fiscal year (July 1st) for those employees in working status at least 75% of work year. LONGEVITY COMPENSATION : Upon completion of 7, 10, 14, 20, 24, and 29 years of service from the hire date, employees receive an additional 2 1/2% salary increase. REPRESENTATION: Classified staff (with the exception of Campus Safety Assistants) are represented by Chapter 620, CSEA.
