Accounts Payable Accountant

Title: Accounts Payable Accountant State Role Title: Financial Services Spec I Hiring Range: $64,492 - $64,757 Pay Band: 4 Agency: Dept of Med Assistance Svcs Location: Dept of Medical Asst Services Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Responsibilities Utilize Commonwealth of Virginia financial payment systems or similar to process a high volume of expenditures exceeding $400 million in annual expenditures in full compliance with state and federal policies. Manage the agency’s invoice workflow system and compile, analyze, and prepare statistical and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct financial reconciliations and perform audits and reviews to ensure adherence to Department of Accounts (DOA) requirements. Deliver professional customer service timely and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with the Prompt Payment Act. Manage and reconcile purchase card activities using the Bank of America Online Reconciliation system in accordance with state policy and procedures. Attend in-person meetings as required. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge and experience of specific programs and/or operations. Knowledge and experience of technical/system aspects of the position. Knowledge and experience of procedures/processes of the position. Knowledge and experience of program development, planning, and implementation. Knowledge and experience of systems, programs, and computer software. Knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations. Experience in meeting critical deadlines, handling multiple assignments, and working independently to ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments. Experience with written communication with internal and external stakeholders. Additional Considerations Experience working with Commonwealth of Virginia issued credit cards. Experience working with Bank of America (SPCC) card Online Reconciliation Process. Experience working with FAS/MMIS, Cardinal, and Oracle Financials accounting system. Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia travel reimbursement processes.
