Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid, high in-office presence) Company Context Our client is a high-growth, founder-led omnichannel apparel brand spanning DTC/e-commerce, wholesale, retail, and events. The company has grown rapidly through founder instinct, hustle, and strong product-market fit. It is now entering a phase where disciplined execution, inventory mastery, and experienced operating leadership are required to unlock the next stage of growth. The business has great product market fit and high demand. The primary constraints are product timing, inventory allocation, organizational bandwidth, and risk calibration. Role Mandate As the President you are the senior operating leader of the business and the founders’ primary execution partner. You own the internal operating model end-to-end and are accountable for translating strategy into results while progressively removing the founder from day-to-day operational decision-making. This is not a role for idea generation. It is a role for focus, confidence, prioritization, and execution. Core Responsibilities End-to-End Operating Leadership Own the full internal operating system across product, inventory, wholesale, DTC, retail, and finance. Serve as the primary execution partner to the founders. Translate strategy into clear priorities and operating plans. Product, Inventory & Allocation. Lead omnichannel inventory planning and allocation. Balance demand certainty, cash constraints, lead times, MOQs, and risk tolerance. Shift the business from reactive selling to intentional buying. Leadership Structure & Org Design Finalize and operate a clear leadership structure across Direct, Wholesale, Product, and Finance. Clarify roles, decision rights, and escalation paths. Build the missing middle layer to free senior leaders from junior-level work. Operating Cadence & Process Establish lightweight but rigorous operating rhythms. Turn founder knowledge into repeatable systems. Reduce chaos without introducing bureaucracy. Financial & Risk Management Partner with Finance to align growth with cash reality. Calibrate risk responsibly—more aggressive than current state, far more disciplined than idea-led leadership. Eliminate initiatives that do not translate to financial outcomes. Preserve autonomy-driven, respectful, and fun culture. Build trust quickly with senior leaders. Lead with calm authority, clarity, and decisiveness. What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months) Confidence & Direction Leadership team has clear operating authority and decision ownership. Decisions are made quickly, with financial awareness and follow-through. Founders are no longer the default escalation point. Product & Inventory Mastery Core SKUs are consistently in stock. Inventory buys are risk-calibrated and time-phased. Allocation across wholesale, DTC, retail, and events is intentional and margin-informed. The company understands its revenue ceiling months in advance and raises it deliberately. Financial Discipline Without Paralysis Growth decisions are explicitly tied to cash, margin, and working capital. Business scales profitably toward $20MM+ in revenue. 80/20 thinking is evident in spending, focus, and resourcing. Ideal Background - Experience and Qualifications Scaled founder-led or PE-backed consumer brands from $5–20M toward $50M+. Deep experience in inventory- and product-led businesses. Strong financial intuition and operating judgment. 8–12+ years in operations leadership (VP) or 12–15+ years with enterprise-wide accountability. Demonstrated improvements in OTIF, intake adherence, turns, and margin. Clear, direct communicator with internal and external credibility.
