ES Field Technician III

Position Summary The ES Field Technician III works under minimal supervision, receives broad work instructions, and applies decision‑making skills to resolve moderately complex issues. The incumbent provides advice and guidance to less experienced team members and may act as a team leader. The role performs operations functions related to emergency response and hazardous and non‑hazardous spill clean‑up and hazmat decontamination work. Principal Responsibilities Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high‑pressure washing, and various other remedial activities in confined‑space entry, such as manholes. Respond to customer spills and emergencies during normal business hours and after hours. Perform general housekeeping, including maintenance of equipment and site. Operate light and heavy equipment related to clean‑up, including roll‑off truck, vacuum truck, box trucks, skid steer, forklift, pumps, and pallet‑jack. Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip Department of Transportation inspections and maintain vehicle logs. Present information and respond to questions from management, internal, and external customers. Perform all responsibilities safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and regulations that govern job performance. Prepare, maintain, and track daily reports and related documentation for emergency response and clean‑up operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to read, write and comprehend operational, technical, process, safety and quality documents. Understand dangers of working with or around chemicals and be able to read safety data sheets to mitigate those dangers. Willingness to provide input on working practices to ensure departmental goals are met and exceeded. Confidence to inform colleagues of unsafe working practices or conditions. Positive attitude and high level of mental resilience. Ability to adhere to company policies and safety standards. Proficiency with light tablet/PC use. Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklift and pallet‑jack. Skilled using hand and shop tools and instruments. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities. Some states may require certificates to operate equipment (man‑lift, hoisting license, scissor lift). Current confined space entry certificate or rescue certification, or ability to obtain upon hire (preferred). Lead and asbestos abatement license (preferred). Class A/B CDL with tanker and class C with hazmat endorsement (preferred). Minimum Requirements 4 – 7 years of relevant work experience. Ability to pass 40‑hour HAZWOPER training upon hire. Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $27.10 to $37.22 (reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions).
