WSU Athletics General Event Staff

Department: Wichita State Intercollegiate Athletic Association Campus Location: Wichita, KS – WSU Main Campus Hire Type: Part Time Pay: $11-13 per hour Work Schedule: Ability to work a non-traditional schedule involving many nights, weekends, & holidays. Subject to sport(s) home schedule. Export Compliance Requirement: No export control requirement. Job Duties Collects and verifies tickets from event attendees. Greets patrons and assists them in finding their seats. Assists guests with locating exits and amenities such as restrooms and concession areas. Assists guests with limited mobility or other special needs to and from their seats. Ensures that aisles, walkways, and designated seating areas are clear, clean, and safe. Calmly assists with disputes regarding tickets and seats. Notifies supervisor of any problems with facilities, supplies, and venue. Assists guests with complaints or concerns; escalates concerns to supervisor when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking and stair climbing to access full range of facility. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to work effectively both independently and on a team. Strong problem‑solving skills and able to make decisions in a fast‑paced environment. Exemplify a strong commitment and willingness to provide outstanding customer service. Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position and/or traverse campus buildings, including stairs. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
