JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose This role is a proactive leadership position responsible for all project services functions and resources. The Senior Project Controls Manager ensures the project meets all commercial, financial, documentation, cost, and schedule requirements using Project Controls best practices. The position serves as the point of contact for the Vice President of Project Management and reports operationally to the Director of Project Controls. Education Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science, or a related field is highly preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant experience will also qualify and be considered. Experience and Specific Knowledge 15+ years of experience in project controls, cost controls, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, and project management. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices. Extreme attention to detail. Proven ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities across multiple offices. Sound, ethical business judgment. Ability to recognize and promote talent. Ability to recognize and rectify teammate issues. Ability to create a high‑performance team in attitude and accomplishment. Comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera, and other technology tools. Embraces technology and leads technological changes. Knowledge of other disciplines’ deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts. Understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for producing all project controls deliverables. Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, detailed engineering schedule, and man‑hour budget for a small or large project. Ability to determine construction material quantities. Experience in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Lead teams to deliver on commitments. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel). Physical Demands Sitting, standing, walking, or moving throughout the facility; driving; talking; seeing; hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting up to 25 lbs. Minimal safety hazards; general office working conditions. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel; to talk and hear; to stand and reach with hands and arms; occasionally to walk and climb or balance; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Working Conditions Travel to field locations may be required but is estimated to be less than 10% of the time. Department members will have a heavy workload, unplanned overtime, and changes in work priorities; multiple projects with short turnaround times are common. May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non‑working hours. The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed. Supervisory Responsibility Yes Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and Implement Project Controls: Develop and maintain project controls plans and procedures. Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. Implement and monitor cost control and performance measurement methodologies. Develop and manage change control procedures. Team Leadership and Management: Supervise and mentor project controls staff. Coordinate work with other project team members and stakeholders. Strong organization skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present project performance reports (cost, schedule, and quality). Analyze project data to identify trends, issues, and potential risks. Provide recommendations for corrective actions. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Maintain risk registers and track risk mitigation plans. Contract Administration: Review and manage contracts, including change orders, invoices, and payments. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project controls effectiveness. Stay up‑to‑date with industry best practices and technologies. Collaboration and Communication: Ability to liaise and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Communicate project status and performance effectively.
