Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities Trouble shoot and diagnostics for service related as well as project related jobs on barge engines. Disassemble and reassemble barge engine packages in shop. Perform engine PM services in the fleet on barges. Use power tools. Be on-call as directed or needed. Travel occasionally to work at other company locations. Follow safety procedures. Execute any other duties as needed or directed by management related to Rio Marine Inc. operations. Work 24‑hour, 7‑day a week; overtime may be required. Qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent. Physical Lift and carry 50 lbs for extended distances. Work in all adverse weather conditions. Climb ladders, stairs, and gangways up to twenty‑five feet high. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and work above head for extended periods. Operate Rio Marine vehicles safely and courteously. Personal Background Acquire a valid TWIC. Maintain a valid driver’s license. Maintain a clean driving record with no DWI convictions. Pass a criminal background check. Pass drug and alcohol testing. Travel occasionally for the company to work at other locations. Practical Experience Previous experience on diesel engines (Cummins, John Deere, or Cat). Good communication skills. Professional manner in dealing with employees, management, and customers. Organizational skills. Mechanical skills.
