Respiratory TherapistThe Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. The therapist evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans, explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to the patients, and providing necessary education upon discharge to home.ResponsibilitiesConduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, including invasive and non-invasive methods.Administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients using oxygen and aerosol devices.Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance and perform suctioning using various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.Review patient's chest x-rays for further evaluation needs.Carry out pulmonary function studies and assist in respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.Provide tracheostomy care and perform arterial punctures as required.Document and report all pertinent information regarding treatments and patient responses.Engage in effective communication with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency.ScheduleThis position entails a night shift, working 3 consecutive 12-hour hours.Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.Why ARMStaffing?At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
