Customer Care Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of theSr Maintenance and Repair Tech - Instrument-Fire-Respiratory (Industrial Fire Capitan) position is to perform Inspections, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs (ITM) to Life Safety Equipment, for established customers, on a scheduled basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide quality of service to our customers. Assist assigned HTS technicians with proper training in Vallen standard operating procedures. Providing customer service in the area of Inspecting, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs of Life Safety Equipment. Including, but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Gas Detection Monitors, Respiratory Equipment, Fall Protection Equipment and Safety Shower / Eyewash Units May also have job coordination responsibilities in the absence of a Technician Lead if assigned by the supervisor/manager for specific jobs or customers. May lead other technicians within area of expertise. May be responsible for interacting with the customers to coordinate job activities. Responsible for ensuring all documentation associated with assigned tasks is filled out accurately, completely & turned in for proper invoicing. Ensures all required copies provided to the customer upon servicing equipment. Knowledgeable of all regulatory standards pertaining to assigned duties; i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, NFPA Guidelines and Vallen SOP’s. May be responsible for Parts & Equipment requests for specific assigned jobs. Maintaining accurate inventories related to job and maintenance orders. Exhibit safe work practices at all times. Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders & distributing to sales associates for processing. May include the use of company provided assets such as but not limited to: Company Vehicle, Inventory, Safety Equipment, Laptop, BR Scanner, Test Equipment, Tools, Radio, Cell Phone, Fuel Card and/or Credit Card. Associates are required to maintain proper care of all assets as defined by Vallen policies. JOB QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School or GED Minimum 3 Certifications (manufacturer /state) in a fire protection related field Minimum 2-4 years related experience Mechanically inclined Advance communication, initiative, and problem solving skills REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Repair of Life Safety Equipment. Advance industry segment knowledge. Maintain minimum productivity of 90% within 60 days. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a Customer Acct or Project. Ability to repair and service equipment sold by Vallen. Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record. Commercial Drivers License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials. Proficient with hand tools. Able to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment in a timely and accurate manner Able to provide assistance, advise and training to Vallen associates and plant personnel. Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed. Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.): Working conditions will vary but generally service work is performed inside buildings which have regulated temperatures, and low level noise levels. Possibility of working in hazardous environments when working within a plant which would require safety precautions and appropriate equipment. Ability to work in climatic weather (cold/heat) during day or night operations While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 55 pounds. Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high. Ability to ascend and descend ladders (step, extension, cage) up to 24’ high. Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes. Able to work from a standing position for 8-10 hours. Bending, climbing and stooping as needed for access of equipment to repair and service. Customer requirements including offshore platform swing rope test.
