Finance Manager

Location: Confidential Defense Manufacturing Organization Employment Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established and growing defense manufacturing organization that supports critical national security and defense programs. The company is seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager to oversee multiple business units and serve as a key financial partner to operational leadership. This role offers the opportunity to manage and own the financial performance of three profit and loss (P&L) business units , providing financial insight, forecasting, budgeting, and operational support that directly impacts business decisions and growth initiatives. Position Summary The Finance Manager will lead financial planning, analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budget management across multiple operations. This individual will partner closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies, drive business performance, and ensure compliance with all financial policies and regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical thinker who enjoys working with large data sets, translating financial information into actionable business recommendations, and leading financial processes within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Own and manage the financial performance of three P&L business units. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews with leadership teams. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Deliver timely financial reports, KPIs, and business metrics to executive leadership. Partner with operational leaders to support strategic planning and decision-making. Monitor cash flow, financial risks, and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and financial controls. Support annual planning cycles, audits, and financial reporting requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members as applicable. Identify process improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 5-7+ years of progressive finance, accounting, FP&A, or manufacturing finance experience. Experience managing or supporting P&L responsibility within a manufacturing environment. Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to analyze large data sets and present findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Strong communication, leadership, and business partnering skills. High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience within defense, aerospace, government contracting, or highly regulated manufacturing environments. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing operations. Experience supporting DoD contracts or government-funded programs.Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
