Middleware Software Engineer (IBM)

Overview:

About the Role: We're seeking an experienced Middleware Software Engineer specializing in IBM MQ and IBM Integration Bus to join our Minneapolis team for a 6-month project. You'll be working on critical enterprise messaging and integration solutions that support our business operations.

What You'll Do:

Design, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere MQ messaging systems
Develop and implement solutions using IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
Create and optimize message flows and integration patterns
Monitor queue performance and troubleshoot messaging issues
Collaborate with application teams on messaging architecture and implementation
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for messaging infrastructure
Implement security policies and access controls for messaging systems
Document technical solutions and provide knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For:

4+ years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ Series
Strong expertise in IBM Integration Bus (formerly WebSphere Message Broker)
Experience with message flow development and transformation mapping
Knowledge of enterprise messaging patterns and best practices
Proficiency in troubleshooting messaging connectivity and performance issues
Understanding of clustering and high availability configurations
Experience with security implementation in messaging environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

IBM MQ or Integration Bus certifications
Experience with other middleware technologies
Knowledge of enterprise application integration patterns
Familiarity with monitoring tools for messaging systems
