Procurement Specialist I

Procurement Specialist Location: North Chicago IL (100% Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months Shift Time: 8am to 5pm Pay Range: $22/hr to $25/hr (On W2) Job Responsibilities Assist with purchase order (PO) creation and conversion for assigned categories. Support PO approvals within delegated authority limits. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and invoice discrepancies. Maintain accurate documentation for purchases and ensure compliance with procurement policies. Participate in supplier communication and help monitor performance metrics. Contribute to cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements under guidance from senior team members. Assist in preparing bid documents and proposals for routine sourcing activities. Provide administrative support for small‑scale RFPs and procurement projects. Educate internal stakeholders on existing procurement tools and processes. Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 1–2 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain preferred. Qualifications Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Effective written and verbal communication. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Fieldglass). Basic understanding of supplier management and contract administration.
